Olivia Gamber

owner/Farmer in residence

Olivia has been working in urban agriculture, community gardens, garden education, commercial organic farming, and landscaping for nearly ten years. Her career as a farmer and educator began at thirteen when she started volunteering at the Newton Garden Project, a collaborative project with women transitioning out of prison in Camden, NJ which focused on growing food for their urban community in a personally and environmentally restorative way. The love and healing that she and other volunteers experienced there sparked her belief in the restorative power of agriculture, as well as her passion for collaborative teaching and learning. She holds a degree in Environmental Studies from The New School.

Olivia is thrilled to be able to continue her journey as the Farmer in Residence at Staten Island Urby and the owner of Rabbit’s Garden!
